Christmas & winter Perler bead patterns

Compare 18 original holiday and winter charts — stocking, wreath, Santa hat, reindeer, penguin, snow globe and more — with 84–264 beads and exact color lists.

Four Christmas bead charts side by side on pegboard grids: a red Santa hat with a white brim, a green wreath with a red bow, a green gift box with a red ribbon and a black-and-white penguin with a red scarf.

Start with the candy cane (84 beads) for the quickest build, or the snow globe (264 beads) for the biggest. These 18 original Christmas and winter Perler bead patterns use 84–264 beads and 1–5 colors per chart. Every chart is a generic holiday motif drawn for BeadDraft, with color names, codes and counts computed from its own bead grid.

Compare beads, colors and main-color share

The table starts with the fewest beads. Main-color share is the largest color count divided by the total beads, rounded to one decimal place. Empty cells are not counted; the grid is the size of the chart canvas.

Colors used across the set

These 19 Perler colors cover all 18 charts. The list shows how many charts use each color and the beads of that color needed to build one copy of each of those charts. Names, codes and screen shades come from the maker's Perler reference palette; screen colors are approximations, so compare them with your physical beads. BeadDraft is not affiliated with or endorsed by Perler.

Where to start

  • Quick builds: candy cane (84), holly (86), icicle (108), stocking (115) are the four smallest charts.
  • One-color or two-color: snowflake, candy cane, santa hat, mitten, holly, icicle use two colors or fewer, so there is little to mix up.
  • Pale subjects: the snowflake aside, the White-heavy charts such as the snowman and the polar bear are easier to read on a darker pegboard or backing sheet.
  • Round shapes: the wreath, ornament and snow globe are built from discs and rings; count the first and last bead of each row against the chart so the curve stays even.

Finishing and hanging

Fuse with ironing paper and a warm iron, turn the piece over and iron the back too, then press it flat under a heavy flat object while it cools. Fused beads are plastic; keep finished pieces away from candles, fairy-light bulbs and other heat sources. To hang a charm, run a loop of thread or a small ornament hook through a hole in a top bead, and check that it holds before you hang it somewhere it could fall.

Make your own holiday pattern

  1. Choose your own drawing, photo or word. Use an original image or one you have permission to adapt, or type a short word in the Text tab.
  2. Set the grid width. The maker accepts 12–120 cells across; a small width keeps simple shapes bold.
  3. Limit the colors. Generation allows up to 12 colors, and holiday shapes usually read best with three or four.
  4. Apply, then edit. Apply the preview before painting, erasing or replacing colors, then check the updated counts.
  5. Export the confirmed chart. Download the PDF reading chart, PNG or CSV. Unapplied previews are not exported.

The PDF is a READING CHART — NOT 1:1, with color counts, symbols and board sections of up to 29×29 cells. Read it beside your pegboard.

Frequently asked questions

Which Christmas Perler bead pattern should I start with?

The candy cane is the smallest chart at 84 beads. For the fewest colors, choose snowflake: 1 color.

How many beads do the Christmas patterns need?

From 84 beads (candy cane) to 264 beads (snow globe). Each pattern page gives the exact count for every color, so you can check your bead supply before you start.

Are these Christmas patterns copyrighted characters?

No. Each chart is an original BeadDraft drawing of a generic subject, such as a stocking, a wreath, a reindeer or a penguin, not a cartoon character, mascot or brand. If you bead a specific copyrighted character, keep it to personal use and check the rights holder's rules before selling it.

Can I change the colors of a pattern?

Yes. The color tables list Perler codes, so you can swap any shade for one you already own. Swap whole colors consistently; changing a single bead can break the symmetry of a mirrored chart.

Can I print these patterns at 1:1 bead size?

No calibrated 1:1 template is provided. The maker PDF for a recreated or generated project is a READING CHART — NOT 1:1, with symbols, color counts and sections of up to 29×29 cells. Read it beside the pegboard.
